Card Captor Sakura Vs. Tsubasa?!
Question: its seems to me that the characters from CCSakura and Tsubasa are the same... even there names are the same with a small pronunciation... like in CCS the two main characters are Sakura and Syoran...& in Tsubasa SAKURA and SYORAN.....even the drawing of the character are the same.... but there older... ? dose anyone know what the story behind that is, was it done on purpose ...did they use the same artist, and y they have the same names as in Card Captor Sakura... please let me know...thx

Tsubasa Chronicles is a crossover of CardCaptor Sakura.
Basically this means that characters are brought over from one anime into another anime -- however they are in a completely new and different plot, and whatever role they were playing in the previous anime -- it's disregarded.
C.L.A.M.P. [manga-ka -- creators] often recycles their characters. For example, in Tsubasa, you see Sakura and Syaoron from CCS. Also Toya, Yukito and Tomoyo from CCS, however there are also characters from C.L.A.M.P.'s other manga's such as XXXHOliC and Chobits.

In Tsubasa, the characters from Cardcaptor Sakura are in a completely different dimension. Their personalities are actually supposed to be different. Sakura is actually the Princess of Clow, Syaoran is leader of an Archaeological dig. They actually cross over with other CLAMP characters, like the characters in xxxHolic, Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth and more. Yes, they are meant to look the same because technically they are the same people. I don't know why CLAMP did this though and yes it was done on purpose. CLAMP is the same group that does Cardcaptor Sakura.

CCSakura and Tsubasa are done by the same authors, CLAMP. The two main characters, like you mention, are still Syaoran and Sakura, with the same name and very similar drawing. It's definitely done on purpose, but I don't think there's any "real" story behind all these things. Tsubasa basically is the older version and CCSakura is the younger version, and they both still love each other and knew each other a lot. However, the plot and storyline are very different. In CCSakura, Sakura first met Syaoran when they are in school. Sakura also knows magical power and has a "lion-winged" pet, which I forgot his name since I never watched CCSakura (but i do watch Tsubasa). In Tsubasa, however, Sakura is a princess of a country called Clow, and first met Syaoran when she is little. She is just a regular princess, with no magical power, and have no pet. Syaoran is an architect, and learns how to fight when he's little. Also, the "lion-winged" pet will be shown in only one episode and is consider to be minor character.
Basically, CCSakura is TOTALLY different from Tsubasa. The childhood of grown Sakura and Syaoran is different from who they are in CCSakura; even how they met in Tsubasa and the setting is different from the setting of CCSakura and how they met. Hope you learn something.... =)

TRC is a cross over anime. You could find a lot of CLAMP’s characters there.
It got Sakura, Sayoran, Touya, Yukito, Fujitaka from CCS; Subaru, Kusanagi, Sorata, Arashi, Kamui etc. (from X/1999), Yuuko, Watanuki (XxXholic), Chi (Chobits) etc…
The manga/anime mainly related to XxXholic.
