Answers: around how much would comic books be from the late 70's to the 80's?

Comic book prices vary according to demand, which is based on a combination of quality (e.g. of writing, artwork), condition, and rarity. Therefore how much comics from the time period you specified would be depends very much on which particular comic books you are talking about. That period just about encompasses the reintroduction of the X-Men (1975: Giant-Sized X-Men 1 and X-Men 94), which are expensive items, as are most of the X-Men comics up into the 130s as many were drawn by artist John Byrne and the stories written by Chris Claremont. Much of the comic book material published during that time period, however, doesn't command particularly high prices and many can be picked up in lots on eBay that work out at less than a dollar per comic. If you have particular comics in mind I suggest you run a few eBay searches and look at what those items are going for - not necessarily the starting price - but what people are actually bidding. Many rather worthless comic books go on eBay and receive no bids even when they are listed at low prices, because who wants to pay the shipping on a book that's essentially worthless unless of course you have a really burning desire to read that particular book? When it comes to reading material, some interesting stuff came out of that period. Warlock in Strange Tales and then in the series Warlock, written and drawn by Jim Starlin, is a good example but mid-70s rather than late. Doctor Strange, and Shang Chi Master of Kung Fu also provide entertaining reading. I don't think there's a shortage of readable material. But print runs from that time period were quite substantial, and people collected and saved their comics, so there's still plenty around (not like from the old days when people stuck comics in their back pocket, passed them around their friends, and they ended up trashed from wear and tear). So these are all things to consider.
