I don't know, it sounds pretty insane. But superman is such a hot dish and the guy he's disguised as is... mild-mannered.

But most important is that nobody even thinks that he has a secret identity. It simply doesn't occur to people that Superman is never not Superman. Unlike those heroes who wear masks, the general public assumes that he's Superman 24/7. It helps that he's so active around the world. And, when he's not, people assume he's off in space.
