L is awesome and everything but I gotta say that I absolutely love evil light. Come on have you seen his evil laugh it can give you shivers!! Besides Light might not be smarter the L or anything but without Light where would Death note be? Light it is!
I always loved L, but Light really got me in the first few episodes. But sometimes when he is corrupted he's like Sasuke in Naruto, rather twisted and evil. It's sorta awesome, and sorta scary at the same time. But it's so awesome when he and L are genius-ing against each other ^^
So basicly, I like Light/Raito the most... at times...

im not sure what u mean but my daughter made me watch a film called death note.i think it was japanese.i liked the first one best.it had subtitles.umm am i on the same wavelength.

L, he was smarter than Light and he would have gotten him if Light didn't use the cheap trick to make Rem do it
Overall, both were great characters and made the whole series really entertaining
L all the way.
L. He's the absolute best/most interesting/most eccentric character ever. Despite [insert numerous spoilers here], in my opinion at least L TOTALLY PWNS light. muaha. And he is ridiculously easy to cosplay on top of that.....lol

L is the most awesome, intelligent, different, weird (in a good way), sugar loving, (sexy) character i have ever seen in an anime series. i love L to death, but sadly i have to say Light because he holds the whole series together. He's so complex and so evil and is the one villain that you can't help but root for....
so i guess i'd have to say Light....

It'd have to be L. He oozes all sorts of brilliance. I just love his quirks to death; the way he perches in a seat, the careful way he holds up objects, his sugar addiction, the insomnia. And he is so amazingly smart, it's unbelievable.
So I'd have to say L, but there's love for Raito/Light too.
