Is Voltron a rip off of The Battle Of The Planets?!

Question: i say it is i am a fan way back of the Battle of the Planets team g-force and they were created first my husband who is sitting here watching voltron says they are not. i know its pretty sad for a 37 yr old and a 34 yr old to be sitting here fighting about this (plus the fact that he is actually sitting here watching it and saying go voltron lmao)
