Miss April (うづき) Ujiki-san: A detailed explaination of the vocab words:
1. Red: Aka-i, (あ か い) There are three kanji for this with same prononciation. One is this (朱), such as in Akeginu (朱絹, red silk), referring to a rouge red, especially on a item of clothing, on a type of red sand used for Kanji calligraphy (that is, Masago, Red sand [朱 砂] ), on jewellery or ornaments, and especially on a woman. This kanji is also used to refer to woman's beautiful complexion and the color of her blush, a maroonish red and sometimes carrying highly sexual connotation (in ancient romantic poetry). the other is this: (赤) scarlett red color. Aka-i as in this kanji (赤) is a strong, loud, vivid, and masculine shade of red. It too can represent the wild side of nature---such as "Akajishi", (赤 鹿), scarlett deer (and deer are called both Jishi and Shika...confusing isn't it). The third form of this kanji is (红), as in Akatsuki (红月, red moon). Akatsuki is also called dawn or daybreak, when the first ray of morning lights up the sky and the starry heavens fade away to give birth to day...(暁).....even more confusing.....(^_^;;).....when the similarity is many!!

2. Blue: Ao-i (青, あ おい ). The color of blue with a slight hint of green in it. Like blue sky or blue waters, etc.

3. Black, Kuroi: (黒, くろ い ). Such as in people's family names like Akira Kurosawa (黒澤 明). Kurosawa=black swamp. Akira= Bright. Many kanjis read as Akira.

4. Midori (みどり ): There are two kanji for Midori, one literally means green (緑), the other, the deep green color of Jade (翠). Of course, both can be used, depending on what kind of thing you're referring to that are green.

5. Haku or...Shiro-i [白] (both are correct): Yes, the Haku avatar you're using a while ago, in fact means "White". Haku--(は く , 白) Shiroi (し ろ い). Like Shiro-chan the white puppy from Crayon shin-chan. (shiro-chan = little white).

I hope this is helpful.
