Anime conventions can be a lot of fun. There are a lot of people there and you will see so many cosplayers. There are seminars, booths galore, freebies everywhere, drawings, convention-only sales. Just be sure to bring money with you. It's also more fun to go with one or more friends. I hope you do go and have a lot of fun!!!
It depends which one you're talking about.
But for the most part, anime conventions are fun and a nice way to make friends.
If you like seeing people cosplay and have fun with it then it's good. If you like to shop for anime stuff then it's good and also a bit cheaper. There's also free swags given out by some promoters and at a few booths too.
