  • He's thinking or forming a strategy.

As for the second part, when he was facing Temari in the Chunin exams, he planned out enough moves to stay ahead, and still had 200 to spare when he forfeited.

Hes going to summon CHUCK NORRIS

Nothing much. Just thinking of a couple hundred ways to defeat his opponent. He's usually thinking about 10-15 moves ahead.

What Shikamaru does i kind of a nervous habit for him.

He does this to think and comes up with strategies for his next move in battle. Since Shikamaur has such an IQ of 200,he can easily think head at least 200 steps and figure out the result of each scenario.

    Naruto Rocks!!!!!

it's what he does when he's thinking up a strategy, he's usually 200 moves ahead

    Well, he's planning a strategy.

And in the Chunin exams, he was 200 moves ahead...i think

He shouldn't have given up in that battle! If I were Naruto I would have thrown him into one of the stands...haha XD

    ^^

Shikamaru's thinking that's just how he focuses also depending on the situation he can think 200-300 moves ahead give or take.
