It's just Fan-Fiction, it comes with part of the territory of being extremely popular & having a large fanbase of rabid fanboys / fangirls. Also to act as devil's advocate, there's those who don't like how some "innocent" Anime series & characters are turned into lolicon, hentai, yuri, etc. versions by fans.
Also you should not underestimate the Fangirl market & its community.
