Because anime has everything it,like action,comedy and good plots. Anime s different from other types of show,because you can create whatever you want. For anime there are pretty limitless possibilities to come out with to make it good.
Also not to mention the really good plots/story that anime contains. Instead of just some types of show where they just show random episode,one after another anime,has plots,and sub-plots that keep it interesting and easy to get into.
Also anime is good because the wide variety of charatcers that are usually in it. Each charatcers tend to have there own story to tell,with there own background and plots,which keeps the plot moving and interesting.
Whats also good about it,is the music alone,a lot of good music and is used in anime to keep the story in suspense and interesting.
And of course there the action. The action alone can draw people and start watching. Anime tends to show the unrealistic of fights and action,which makes it exciting and interesting and makes you want to keeps watching.

I'm American.
I'm American. I like it because of the art, the stories, the characters, and because it is finite. Cartoons here in the US just go on forever with no beginning or end. (They are also usually silly.) Anime just has a wonderful world of its own.
First of don't think that only "Asians" could watch anime. l'm Filipino(Pacific Islander/Asian) btw, but also mixed with Chinese.
I love that it has:
-A good story line(of course!)
The anime has to make sense, and doesn't involve just fighting. Although I love action anime
-Involves Mysteries
It makes learn about a lot of things, and helps me think clearly.
-The humor of the anime
I don't like those over exaggerated ones, but a good humor is must!
-Somehow has to involves drama
I love anime that could make me cry, especially when a character dies.. -.-
-Character development
Every anime has to have a protagonist that has something to improve
-Action
oh yeah!
-The Romance
I want a lovers and quarrel relationship is always my best pick!
-The Animation
It attracts some audience to watch the anime more.
I am African American and i like anime because it is awesome and it is better than all the pointless cartoons out there that dont have a message. Even the most pointless anime has some kind of message to it. And they have so many anime it is easy to find one that fits me and that i can relate too. Plus they have a lot of action.

Anime is cool and all that stuff .
it has action, drama and more imagination than the american ones (don't get me wrong i do like some of the animation from america)
in some of the story line it hits people where unexpected this is the reason why i like it plus it sometimes looks at aspects of our lives.
to tell u the truth it's really hard to explain not unless if you have watched some anime and i don't mean just one or two episodes

I think it's a change from all the cartoons I watch now. And oddly though Im in the US, I watched a lot of it when I was younger.
I loved.
Cardcaptors and Sailor Moon. Then when I got older I started to like Mew Mew powers. But now I watch them in Japanese with English subs. Ah!

ummm, I dunno how to put it, it's a hobby! like if someone likes to collect stamps or shells or whatever he just can't give you an exact reason of his interest! that's how anime is for me! and it's not because the Japanese people made it..

i love mangas because the characters are draw very well and they look like reals , we're feeling they're really exist , their originals voices from japanese ,it's very awesome , great , for japanese people creating any anime with any special story , their characters are something and especially music soundtrack , they're making a happiness for us thanks to anime or manga
I love anime because i can relate it to my life. It so fun to watch and there is also always a hot character. And no im not chinese or japanese. But i wish i could speak japanese that would be awesome.
