Top contributors...i'm confused...?!
Question: ok...first am i the only person who sees a TC thing under my name...or do you guys see it too?
if you see it...then i'm confused...i've been a yahoo answers member for three weeks, my 4th week starts today...and i'm a level 2 at the moment (almost 3)...so how am i a TC? i'm not mad...in fact i'm happy...and i'm confused...soo. yeah.

Okay, like some of us already have one, it just shows people how much knowledge you have in particular category, like your Top Contributor to Comics & Animation. You get no reward or anything, but an orange badge.
You basically get one by answering a lot of questions in one particular category, like Comics & Animation. You should also get some Best Answers, which you should already did. However, if you stop answering Comics & Animation for few days, you MOST LIKELY WILL LOSE YOUR BADGE. Even if you're a bit busy, if you still want to keep your badge, answer at least couple of questions everyday.
There is no restriction how many answers you should answer, nor how much Best Answers, nor what level you should already be. As long as you keep answering, you will get more chance of getting the badge. It may range from a week of answering a lot to a month, depending how much you answer everyday.
Like I said, you get NOTHING but an orange badge, which just shows everybody how much knowledge you have on particular category, like Comics & Animation. =)

Oh yeah, by the way, you need at least 10% of Best Answers to get Top Contributor badge and stay at least 10% or you'll lose it. =)
You can Top Contributor badge with up to 4 categories.

Well no everyone,can see it,lol.
As for the level,it doesn't matter what level,you are on you still can earn a TC badge,you could be on level one and still get one,(pretty much,most likely level 2),it just means that you are frequent in a certain category and you have a a lot of knowledge in that category. So,you can be at almost any level and earn one. Even sometimes a person could be at level 7 and not have one.
If you want to keep up your TC badge you kind of need to stay 10% or higher so you don't lose it,and try and earn about 100-500 ponts per week,aslo getting bets answers helps.

Lucky you i'm the same infact I just got my first contributor just today, wow it's feels cool to be a top thing, I fought I was the only one whose confuse, did I just mention I got this top thing today?
I'm also level 2
too keep it on for next week you must have 100 points a week, plus this guy told me it before at about 3:00 pm or something today?

Hey, congratulations! What it means is that you answer well and often and generally that you're good. I have TC for two other categories and sometimes have it for baseball too, but even though I'm here a lot I've never had it for C & A, so it's a tough section. You must be really good!!
Because you're below 10% & you are an active member here + you keep an average of 100 points a week so for that you are one & if you don't have 100 points next week the badge will be gone since it's dynamic

yes, i can see the tc badge as well as you can. you are a tc if you have a 10% best answer ratio in a certain category

it means that you've been answering lots of questions from a certain area like in your case comics & animation. hope it helps.
This happened to me too.......... I've been a member for like a month... and I DO answer a lot, but I have no idea how it happened.... Maybe it'll be gone by tomorrow......
