Itachi, the use of his high-level genjutsu would more than likely cause Trunks, arguably, an already weak-minded character, partially due to having come from the future where he witnessed the end of the world first hand, and the resulting dependent nature he's developed as a result of the scenario he came from, Itachi would be more than able to entrap him in a genjutsu that would have him crumpled in a ball, sobbing hysterically at what he's seeing.
