Question: I have been thinking about this for a while now = how come lots of anime fangirls like yaoi and every one's ok with it but when a guy says he likes hentai or yuri the first thing that comes to everyones mind is "ew pervert!" Im not a guy or anything but me and my friend were woundering about this, any ideas?

Because Hentai actually lets you see stuff(private stuff). most yaoi just shows the chest, and they don't have anything there that they don't already show(guys anyway).
Well.......it's kinda cause yaoi is directed toward girls but yuri isn't directed toward guys. And girls have "things"... um..... you know........ha ha ha akward......I'm just gonna stop typing now......
(and more people like yaoi than yuri so yaoi seems more normal)
Well for me if someone likes Yuri I don't have a problem with it. Hentai is just basically porn, so for that one that's why people say "ew pervert." That's just my opinion, a lot of people don't like yaoi either. Some people think yaoi is porn, but it not. It's just an adult guy/guy relationship that ranges or either being light with only kissing or more intense with.......well you know. :) It the same with yuri just with girls. Hope I helped some. :)
i don't know, but that's what suck, they criticize guys for likeing hentai when they like something just as disgusting
First of all, hentai is totally not right... Period. (not saying the questions suck, but I'm saying what the other people might be thinking)
Second of all, yaoi is like 1000 times more popular, so it's a bit okay to people who asked questions about yaoi. Well..... Seeing boys love isn't so bad..... Since most Comics & Animation are girls, and usually girls say ewwww more at girls love than boys love.
Yuri, well, less popular, and, as stated above, girls are more popular than boys in Comics & Animation, and girls say ewww more at girls love than boys'.
But seriously, why don't girls just go to Women's Health and say "Ewww" at every single questions there?! Hentai/yuri is still part of Comics & Animation! Either say something that is at least a bit helpful, or say nothing at all! Yahoo Answers isn't a place to give bad comment....
I don't know. I'm not prejudice on any of them. People have a right to gay love! And cartoon pornography.... even though it is kinda disturbing when you think that thousands of people are watching drawn people having sex at this very moment O.o

People tend to criticize guys and their porn viewing habits. Hentai, since it's just illustrated porn, elicits "ew pervert!" simply because it's porn. Yuri is often included in porn, and is gratuitously aimed for men.
When a woman likes yaoi, people sort of dismiss it because women aren't seen to be as perverted as men.
