What are some things you cant stand about anime today?!
Question: im begining to write this anime story but im not very familiar with anime like a lot of ppl, ive seen every episode of Trigun and almost of Inuyasha

i just hate that they drag it out so much. especially if it's based on a manga they do like a chapter per show or something and all that happens is they walk around or something boring.
and they tend to make girls very violent. it's just overdone.

I hate long animes coz they end up putting so much uneccesary extras. ilike animes were they only have 25-40 episodes, where every points on the plot are unified, such as Death Note, Ergo Proxy, etc.
nothing, i love anima. in japan anima is not seen as a cartoon, it is simply scene as another medium to get across a story, in japan anima is taken just as seriously as regular cinema is takin in the united states. some people respect it even more because you can go into more phyisical detal with it. visualy you can show things that you just cant show in a regular movie.

the episodes come out quite late.the characters should be funny, not too emotional and look dumb.The plot must not be too complex to be understand by others and the plot took a long time to finish
I don't like it when a character's name is said, and there is nothing else coming out of the speaker's mouth, afterwards !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thing about anime, what most people are attracted to, is the fact that's it's edgier then American cartoons. To start off, a well developed and defined character is a must. Someone who can grow and develop, as with any good story. As for plot lines, make it unique but not too weird. A good example would be Full Metal Alchemist, manga or anime as both are very good.
Things I can't stand are Mary Sues and the like, you know, either perfect characters or self inserted characters. Characters like that are just boring and pitiful. Plot holes also annoy people so that's something to watch out for.
Basically you're writing a story so play around with it, try new ideas and ask yourself questions like, what would the dynamic be between these two characters? How would they handle this situation? How did the situation arise anyway? It's hard work and you'll find you'll end up re-writing alot of the time but hey, if you work hard it will show.
Too many filler episodes. I mean look at naruto.
I really get tired of the boys being afraid of girls (like in Mahoromatic and Maburaho).
I also dislike violence just to show you can do violence
let me tell you that i love anime's (sometimes) more than moveis. there are really some good ones around that can compete to real live production.
ok what i hate about anime (like plots, characters,.. etc..)
1. Their japanese culture. if yer a first timer watching an anime, you'd be amazed of their mannerisms. how they react to situations, their anger, sadness, happiness, color of their hairs, eyes, sailor clothes,.. but eventually, overtime, you'd get used to those stuff, that you'd want them to just act, speak, dress like average people do. (less exaggerated) cuz, afterall, the anime art style is achived, by the use of exaggeration/distortion.
2. Tournament battles. A good example of this is Yoshihiro Togashi's YuYu Hakusho, and then came in Recca No Hono, Naruto, Akira toriyamas Immortal series Dragon Ball Z and who know's how many of them more.. .. these anime's, all have tournaments. this is a very cliche way to develop a certain character. or to show-off their prowess. it's already boring to me.
3. Their Bihsounen/Bishoujo stuff. like, there's always one ultra metrosexual/cool guy who's the crush of every female in the film. (almost every anime has one)
on another setup for this is, Tenchi Muyo, Love Hina, (though i love ranma 1/2), i think i'd let it be one of my examples here also. i think this also falls in their culture issue.
4. the never seem to end, "reserve power" dragon ball z, naruto, bleach, and all action type anime's always has this "infinte reserve of power." just as you thought when the hero/heroin gave everything he/she got, really got beaten up to a pulp, (almost half dead and bathing in own blood) and used the ulitmate technique... one conversation starts, and then... *WHAM!! fully recharged! you'd be delighted to know that you'd be downloading another 5 episodes of their fight before a victor is presented. (how many times do you have to see stuff like this?)
to tell you the truth, i've been watching anime's for a long time and just as the preface of the story has started, i already can give you several possible endings for it. and it's not a very good thing. it has no anticipation factor and it doesn't get you "hooked." well these are just some of em but, eventhough i stated these things up against anime, there are still some good series that i still would want to finish. well, that's my take.xD
