Do you still watch cartoons?!
Question: Anime is short for "animation" and although it is used commonly for Japanese Cartoons, in fact, Anime IS Cartoon.
So when people say they watch cartoons but not anime, they are simply saying that they watch cartoons but don't watch cartoons, which as you can see, doesn't make sense.
Anyway, to answer the question, I watch anime more than I do live-action drama/movies. In Live-action, actors and actresses may not be able to interact and play in-character as well as animated artwork through the perspective of the artist.
Only notable American anime would be Lion King and most other Disney anime. Most North American television anime sucks crap, though I've enjoyed Magic School Bus and Babar. ^_^
Edit: To lutka120 who said there is a difference between anime and cartoons, the only difference is the word. Otherwise, what you're referring to being different is actually regional styles of anime - hence Japanese anime and North American anime.
