How come no one ever dies in kids cartoons?!

Question: isn't it lame how almost EVERY American cartoon has to be child-friendly? no one dies, no one swears, no blood, it's all happy-merry-go-lucky, how crappy is that?

Oh i know, kids need to see violence and stuff so they are not sheltered all of their life. My parents actually wanted me to watch violent things when i was younger so it wouldnt scare me when i was older. Some parents are just so naive.

the coyote always gets splattered or something on that cartoon

While I agree with you I think because its a kids cartoon they are worried parents will get upset.

GO JAPANESE ANIME

because they don't want to mess with children's fragile minds.

No one dies in Bleach...

And Batman was grittier than a lot of anime out there...
Edit: The same can be said of a lot of cartoon renditions of comic book heroes- X-Men, Spiderman, etc...

PS: A lot of the stuff that gets brought over to America (especially the stuff that gets aired on tv) is the heavy shounen action stuff. But A LOT of anime is cutsey moe stuff or romance. We don't see Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, Manabi Straight, Aria, Minami-ke, etc etc ever make it onto TV in America. There is no violence or blood or swearing in those. And then there is the CRAPTON of anime for little kids which = kid's cartoons. Stuff like Doraemon, Sazae-san, Anpanman, Pokemon, Digimon, etc... Once again, there is no heavy violence, swearing, death, blood, etc...

Edit: Oh and just one more little nitpicky thing. The animation for Transformers was done in Korea/Japan, but the story and characters were created in America by Americans. So they were the ones wrote the death- Japan just animated it pretty.

yea i agree i want more violence

dude Optimus Prime got killed in the Transformer movie, but for some reason no one ever dies in the G.I. Joe cartoon, just two massive armies shooting at close range and no one can shoot each other, and when they do , they hit a vehicle, but lucky for the pilots, they all have to wear parachutes

i know, thats why i like naruto, death note, and bleach... yeah, only cause i wuz sick of american things or at least cartoons

Because "caring" parents want to shelter their kids from REALITY(death). But what they don't know is from all the sheltering, when the kid gets older and can't handle reality, they'll probably have a mental breakdown or something...
I don't think there should be a whole lot of too mature content, but c'mon, some people think the power rangers and loony toons are too much for kids? Heck, they had to edit Yu-gi-oh becase there's blood in it...(or the un edited version I saw had it)
yes, there's violence, death, mean-ness, anger, ect. You just have to TEACH a kid what's right and what's wrong.

EDIT: Wait, Mufasa Got Killed In Lion King!! I was 8 when I saw that so I already knew about things that happen. One of the best damn movies, the Lion King and OMG!! Someone Died! then there was Old Yeller ;_; and then Beauty and the Beast about killed me when we all thought beast was dead and he came back to life... then In Tarzan, you saw the shadow of the guy getting hanged... All Disney Movies lol...

people die in family guy but that's not really a kid show o well
''runs away''

look man i already now and this might be the last answer i give you so later man. also that was really sad and damn the way those kids died like that.

The fact of the matter is that life is as violent enough!!!!

I sit down with my son and watch the news because that is reality. People die, get killed, get sick and that is more than enough reality for him. Family members get sick and die and that's more than enough reality for him. People swear and act the fool right infront of his eyes on the buses, in the malls and in society in general and that, again, is more reality than he needs.

They need an outlet. They need to be able to get into a world that is just sunshine and happiness, for the most part, for just a little while.

If you're old enough to be pounding out this question, you're old enough for something with a little more teeth. In the same right, I have seen some young children and teens become desensitized to the real tragedies in life because of being exposed to too much violence through video games and freakish movies.

If you want a world filled with kids that will laugh as someone is dying in front of them on the street, because the way they bounced off the pavement is "cool", then bring on the violence.

....I've seen that and I don't want to live there.

i agree but justice league unlimtied was an american cartoon and it was great. it only had 2 seasons though since it was more of an adult cartoon and in america that isnt nearly as popular as kid friendly cartoons. there is still the stereotype that cartoons are only for kids and cant provoke deep thoughts or interesting drama. so most americans dont try to make another cartoon like justice league unlimited because they feel doomed to fail and its pricey to take that risk.

"death" is a topic that parents may want the power to decide on when and how to approach and teach their children about it, and many parents don't want their children learning it through tv first. As for those children who's parents have already spoken with their children about "death", I'm sure they don't want them watching what they might consider gratuitus violence. We've all heard this when it comes to video games.

If parents don't let their kids watch these cartoons because of various deaths and killings going on, the viewership goes down. The viewership goes down, the ratings go down. If the ratings go down, the cartoon's company profits go down. No profits, no cartoon.

i know...it doesnt have anything interesting to it!!!!!!!! unless its pepperann, the weekenders, or buzz lightyear of starcommand. those are my shows

prime got killed in transformers movie and i saw it with my own eyes.check it out on wiki,it was one of the biggest controversies to happen in cartoons

if there was any cartoon with blood and violence the parents will start protesting and some parents in america and uk are very over protective.

O MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE VILNCE ! with out killings in shows the children wouldn't understand if there mom & dad died or if they just spilled red soda & took a nap
