Naruto ... what's the big deal?!
Question: It seems most people don't know what it is (like me) and everyone else either loves it or absolutely hates it. There seems to be no middle ground ... why is that?

Yes, it is very strange. Either you hate or you love it. The stories really are more dramatic than a typical cartoon on US TV. But Japanese cultural is really involved in it. From my opinion, I think I truly admire the determination of the characters. And for some westerners who don't get it thinks it stupid. And that is a typical response. You just have to watch it more and see. You will get the feeling that it is corny or cheesy. And it can be but it is up to you if you like it or not. Good Luck!
well, i wouldnt exactly say that. you, for example, dont really care about it, so i guess youre considered to be in the middle.
those who hate it think its lame, and those who love it are obsessed.
but i believe that the majority of my friends dont know what it is...
because itz pure genius so either you hate it or love it
as in my case i love it but good for one thing Blood shad and some people don't like that... at last one person dies in every episode thats what makes it so interesting
You know how people say you can't divide the world by good and evil? Well, you kinda can with Naruto. It's just one of those things that you love or you don't. And usually if you don't totally love Naruto at first sight you get peeved when everyone is running around saying it's the absolute best. Which is why (imo) their are so many Naruto-haters.
As for what Naruto is... It's a pretty sweet anime (aka Japanese animation/'cartoon') filled with-
Ninja
Kunai
Jutsu
Hokages
Kazekages
She-ninja
He-ninja
Pervert-ninja
Weird-ninja
Exploding paper
Imploding sand
I could go on and on... but it's a very popular (as you can see) anime that's really good in my opinion. Maybe not the absolute best, but then again.... XD
P.S. Beware- America's subbed Naruto (stay away at all costs) DX
naruto is a very good show but when it got dubbed in english and americanized people thought i was crappy mainly cuz their's alot of blood and violance so US censors cut out most of the best parts try watching the first couple of episode in japanese with english subtiles and you'll understand y people like it so much u can watch all the episodes on youtube and other sites too

It has everything to do with the storyline and the amazing characters. Naruto is Kishimoto's master piece, I guess you can say its like the Harry Potter of Japan.
There is always two sides to something, either you like it or you dont.
either youre into animae or your not. Naruto is a slow paced animae..but yet its still great. I think the U.S version stinks, watching it with subs is the way to go, and if you want to see the updated Naruto the U.S has yet to air ...oh yea and dont forget bleach..that show rocks too
I'm meh about it.
Watched it a bit, it's an "okay" show, but I wouldn't call it this amazing thing that the fanbase thinks it is.
The only thing interesting about it is the whole sasuke betrayal thing and rock lees/gaaras badass fights, but it's not worth watching a 200 episode series.
there are about 1 in 289,657,502 people who have middle ground. its mostly because most people whole like it are obssed with it so the people who dont like it are forced to hate it.
well with that question we goo back to the topic of y do tehy hate anime or naruto the simple answer is fow something to be cool it has to be hated by pll otheriwse it wnt be fun if everyone likes it thats y everyone is different and has their own oppinion and u have to respect it my opinion is that naruto rocks and its a gunius work putting all peaces to gether to make this cool story NAruto rocks :P
