It showed such a dark side to the world, although there was romance hidden there as well. Ya, I agree - the music box was very sad. Plus the opening song for Elfen Lied just captivated me :)

yeah, i'm not a lesbo and i watched the series...i don't like the bloody violenece it in but i sure am hooked with the music box and the OP song..

If you like Elfen Lied, then you'll probably like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Both are quite disturbing, but the story line still awesome.
iv seen it! lolz its ok my friend put it on my ipod 4 me and the first time i saw it im like WTF is this!!!! >_< *shakes fits at her* but after i watched it it was alright even though i had to look away sometimes coz ya know..................... yeah!
