Maison Ikkoku and Kimagure Orange Road?!
Question: Who else likes older romance animes like these?
I never really see them mentioned so I thought I would just see if they are known.

Wow classic "slice of life" romance titles.
Don't forget Living Game! Not as great as Maison but close

And many of Adachi Mitsuru's works though his art & story-telling does get much criticism from fans! Being that they're very similar (maybe Adachi just won't leave a "winning formula").

It's just too bad that all these young'uns don't have access to these titles. But once they get older, they can better relate to the feelings & themes explored by these "slice of life" titles.
Even modern-day "slice of life" don't get mentioned often, but their themes & plots hit very much close to home once one "grows up" (working, having kids, homes, etc.). Titles like Hotman, Planettes & innocent comedies like Yotsubato just don't receive the same publicity as Naruto, Bleach, & DBZ.
Maison is probably up there on my top 3 romance manga of all time. Unfortunately never got the chance to watch the anime. As for Orange road, only got to see the OVAs when I was young. I remember crying while I watched it, even though I had no clue what the heck was going on XD.
Tofu-sensei and the Live-evil crew is subbing the Orange Road TV series again on IRC, since the license has been lost with the US company.
Anyway, I've said too much already...
