Am i the only one that doesnt like the show Avatar?!

Question: for me, it's clearly an anime wannabe, some say it's just like anime but it isn't, the coloring is too 'american cartoony', the character designs aren't stylized and awesome, it's like making an anime version of Johny Quest designs.

yes drawings do matter, good story, characters, designs are still important so im not gonna sccept one flaw, everything's importamt with animation.

I'm with you on that. I find it annoying.

I don't think it's an anime wannabe, I just find the plot, characters, etc... stupid.

over here!!!

NO

I'm not a huge fan, but I do appreciate it.

Yeah, its targeting kids by being "anime-like", but being a snob about non-Japanese anime + manga is a pet peeve of mine. Other people can be creative, too! Anime is anything drawn within the style. It's a style that originated in Japan, not a style that can only be made in Japan. Just like you can get good Chinese food delivered from down the street.

I don't like it. After growing up on Toonami with the likes of Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Ronin Warriors, Gundam Wing, etc, Avatar was pretty absurd...

It does seem wannabe-ish to me. Usually American shows aren't anything like anime. And their attempt at making a strong storyline fell off.

Avatar would have been better if it didn't seem so juvenile to me.

I used to like it alot, untill my life was filled with the greatness of actual anime.

But trust me your not the only one, Avatar the last airbender saddens me.

My Nephew likes it and Yes it does seem a little cartoony.. But it's cute and it's entertainment for him. I'm just glad that people are starting to accept anime a bit more, so mabe they're taking baby steps? or maybe they're trying to keep it a mixture of both cultures...

ha Wing Zero, I miss Toonami too ;_;
I hated when they started putting retarded shows on it so I stopped watching CN and even stopped adult swim though I'd like to check in and see whats showing...

I love Avatar and I'm in my 20s. I know people in their 30s that love it as well. The storyline is good and I think its one of the best American animated series since Batman in the 90s.

If you asked this question when it first aired, I would be like, "R U KEEDIN EVRYBUDY <3S AVATAR N00B ITZ SO ANEEME ND KEWL!!" Now I'm like, "Ew. No. It's not anime. Naruto is. Bleach is. InuYasha is. Death Note is. FMA is. YuYu Hakusho is. Ranma 1/2 is. One Piece is. Shaman King is. Avatar isn't."
