Why do the drawings in the fruits basket manga change? the face and the eyes?!
Question: i have noticed that .... and it kinda got me annoyed .. they were soo much cutter in the begginig ...
and if u have noticed in the flashbacks or when they show them as kids they still have the same eyes ....
in the begining the artist uses alot more screen tones and mesh ( some dotted paper and mesh is somethng that they draw that givez kinda taxture and light and darkness )
but then after that she uses more pure ink ...
it might be for some reasons ....
they might have gotten older ... and they DO look older but as i said in the flashbacks their faces look different ... and for the adults (shigure or hatori) they shouldnt look very different in just 3 years .... but they do .... i mean they arent growing right ? so their faces shouldnt change alot ...
her style has chaneged (every artist has their own style)
and the way she drew things ...
and we now that her arm was injured so her style might have changed due to that fact ...
she was getting bored drawing fruits basket for 8 years ( i think) and she just wanted to finish it faster ... so she didnt waste time on drawing eyes and use more screen tones ...
because all this takes alot of time ..
for example in naruto the artist never uses screen tones or effects (because they might screw things up and he has to redo them)...
because he doesnt have the time ... the chapter has to be out every week .... nut fruits basket took about 8 years ..... ^_^

I think I know what your talking about. Machi's eyes have a very dark, bold oval in the middle of her pupil and it lightens. But Yuki, Kyo's, and Tohru's eyes are just stippled (dotted) heavily. Not ALL anime characters have the same eyes and face. Then they would just look like creepy twins xD And as you get older, your face changes, it could get bigger. Everyone changes.
well they have to draw the same thing so not everything can be purfect

I think it's because they grow older. Also, the manga artist might be trying out new things or getting even better.
