Try giving it a pleasant looking homepage with some popular links, tell friends to use your page as their homepage.

They'll pull up your page when they go online, then they can see how your project is going or have the option of going to some of their favorite places with just a click.

You can change the appearance of the page every so often to give them something new to "wake-up" to.

the samething your doing now. go around on chatrooms or whatever and mention it

well this is a good start!
also maybe put an ad in Comic Buyers Guide=they have
free monthly classified ad-if your a subscriber

I just checked out your site and I think I se the main problem: no comics! I understand that you're just starting out, but it's very hard to get people to come to a comics website that doesn't have any comics yet. Before you start worrying about getting more people to visit your site, get some more content up there. It's just hard for anyone to get excited about a few character descriptions and a poll relating to a story they haven't seen yet. Once you do get comics and artwork together, I'd put them right on the front page, since that's what your visitors really want to see. I'd also take down the music you have on each page; it just gives me an iTunes link saying that I can't play the song unless i buy it.

If you can't pay for advertising, you need to get the word out yourself. This does NOT mean that you go on every single forum, chat room, or website you can find and post about your website 10 times a day. That's just spamming and people will get annoyed and probably ignore your site. Look for sites that you think people who might enjoy your comic might go to. Join the sites and get involved with the community. People are much more likely to listen to you if they don't think you're only on the site to plug your comic. Make one post about your comic with a link and maybe put a link in your signature. Provide banners on your site so that people who enjoy your comic can promote it on their websites. You may not get tons of hits overnight, but gradually, people will start checking out your website.
