actually, they showed him talking to the third as a kid. he was amazed after seeing a white snake for the first time. the third hokage told him a small legend about how the 'white snake' represents immortality and sutff. lol.

well, practically orichimaru's personal background has not clearly stated or detailed on the story. But I can Give some info about him.
Orichimaru, teammate are tsunade and jiraiya is the student of the third hokage
Orichimaru's childhood is different among his teammate, He is so quiet and very envious personality
He believes to his self that no one is above him and he want to take over the village of konoha
