How come The Thing (Ben Grimm, Fantastic 4) is supposed to be just just the team!

Question: He went to MIT and was a NASA astronaut, right? Wouldn't that make him wicked smart? This bothers me for some reason.

Answers: He went to MIT and was a NASA astronaut, right? Wouldn't that make him wicked smart? This bothers me for some reason.

I think Ben is much smarter than he is given credit for. His strength is so awesome that people overlook him as being quite intelligent. When you are standing next to Reed Richards noone is going to look smart, even Sue who is quite a scientist in her own rights looks dumb in comparison.

If his intelligence has decreased after the accident, perhaps that is due to the calcification of his brain or some other damage done by his transformation

One of the things that make the Fantastic Four such a cohesive unit is that each of them stepped into the role they were best suited for. Reed the brain, Sue the heart, Johnny the passion, and Ben the muscle.

this is because he is black and the other 3 are prejudicidedce. and also he has a large shlonger and they wana suck it.

Because he cannot press/type on a keyboard?

Thats just the impression the outside world has , his team mates understand his value and importance to the team. Reed even picked him to lead the team in his absence. Also I dont think he went to MIT(havent kept up with the Marvel Handbooks lately) he and Reed went to Empire State, I thought.
