Berserk manga...?!

Question: I just finished the anime adaption of Berserk. Now I want to read the manga from the point that it leaves off. What chapter should I start at? Or is the anime perhaps too different from the manga so I have to read from the beginning?

The Berserk Anime starts & ends in the middle of the Berserk manga:

Starts at Vol 3, Chap 4
Ends at Vol 13, Chap 6

I would still recommend going through the "Anime" chapters as some of the artwork just plain kicks A!, and for any missed dialogue.
