Answers: Please i have been trying to do self study but i cant ask anyone what it means

Well, you can look up certain words at freedict.com, but I can give you some, if you're so desperate. I got these from my friend.
Good Morning: Ohayo Gozaimos (oh-hi-yo go-zai-mas)
Good Afternoon/hi/hello: Konichiwa (ko-ne-chee-wah)
Good Night: Wasami Nasai (wah-sa-mee na-sai)
But/yet: demo (de-moh)/ date (da-teh)
Thank you: Arigato Gozaimos* (ah-ri-gah-to go-zai-mas)
Bye (for a long time/forever):sayonara (sah-yo-na-rah)
Bye (see ya!): Jaa (jah)

--kun***
--chan***

--sama***
--sensei***

*The term "Gozaimos" is only for formal uses. To a friend, you could just say "Ohayo" or "Arigato"
**Usually at an end of a name, the Japanese put either "--ko" or "--maru". If you have "Yukiko", it means "snow girl" or "Shikamaru" that means "deer boy". Though it does NOT eactly mean "Boy" or "Girl"
***These are Japanese endings that you can use. --kun is for boys. --chan is for girls. Both of these are used for people your age! --san is used for boys and girls that are a bit older than you, like an older brother/sister --sama is for adults, or someone much older than you. --sensei is for teachers.

*Note-I might not know some of the words' spelling.
**Note-you can always search up more on http://freedict.com/onldict/jap.html
though some of the words you'll have to look elsewhere. Gomen!
***Note-try to roll your "r's" when ever you can!

For the fun of it, I'll add cuss words right here:
hit: kuso (kuh-soh)
damn (it): chikushou (chi-kuh-sho)
*****: ikeike (ih-keh-i-keh)

i could teach u but u can also go 2 google and search learn japanese

JP:::a bushi ni nigan nashi

EN:::a samurai has no second thoughts

I don't really know Japanese, I got bored one day so I also tried self-study but it didn't work. All I managed to do was read some of it and say that phrase over and over.

what I do is I go to the rosetta stone website and download the program, It's free depending if the state that you live in has purchased it. Go try and see if you can get it. You will need to tell them your library card number in order to make an account.

To learn Japanese you're ear must first get adjusted to the sound of their words so from now on just watch a lot of anime in Japanese all day long it usually takes 2 weeks for you're ear to get adjusted to it I learned Japanese from when I was in the navy and went there for 6 months It would be a lot easier if you did not watch anime and instead watched Japanese movies since you will catch on faster by watching their lips move I learned from watching these movies but if you are not going to live in japan than you should not try to learn it for it will take you a long time especially getting the hang of their writing it's hard but you just want to watch anime and cause it seems cool right i wish i could teach you but it would be to hard over yahoo answers Spanish is much easier to learn since it is not as vastly different to English as Japanese but I am Mexican so Spanish was the first language I learned

nope i dont no but then search on google and write how do i learn Japanese

hey! ive been doing independent study on japanese too! lol....theres not many teachers that teach japanese around where i live so i started with the basics...well for me....if you like anime or dramas....watch it in jap! with subs of course. that can help you with some of the basic words because you will hear it over and over again....also...if you want to fine tune ur pronounciation, LISTEN to jap music. Find the romanized lyrics for the song and sing along. lol i kno this sounds crazy...and for the rest, you can go on these sites that have helped me
*sites:
http://japanese.about.com/library/mmore....
http://japanese.about.com/library/blsoun...
http://www.learn-japanese-kanji-hiragana...
http://www.learnjapanesefree.com/
*and you would need online translators:
http://www.dicts.info/2/english-japanese...
http://www.lingvozone.com/LingvoSoft-Onl...
http://www.freedict.com/onldict/jap.html
*software/program/books
~berlitz chinese and japanese premier (about $40) but its really really good
~living language japanese (about $25)
~barron's japanese (grammar, phrases, verbs, ect (a book for each)) (about $7)
~a guide to reading and writing japanese (this is for advanced/further studying since its about kanji) (about $25)

**this might seem alot but study little by little. Start with the basics like recognizing words and pronouncing them. After a while, it will seem to get easier...but you will need to dedicate some time studying though. Oh...and try to avoid Rosetta Stone...its not really helpful if you dont know the basics of the language...sooo.....Gambatte ne! (good luck!) ^_^
