FLCL . . . what did I just read!?!
Question: I saw the anime and I fell in love with it. The action, the writing, the characters, all of it is just great. With that in mind I thought it would be a good idea to read the manga. I was not expecting it to be so bizarre. Even from the source material, it was just insane. It all ends with a bunch of cute kittie cats in a field and naota's fingernails are falling off. wtf? If anyone can share some light, please tell me what it all means.
P.S. I understand the anime is about puberty and coming of age, but the manga just took some strange liberties in the storytelling that I didn't get.

Ahahahah ... I hear the manga pushes the notion of 'random' to breaking point - I haven’t been game to go there to be honest (despite the fact I was crazy for the anime.)

Foolu Cooly. yeahhhhhh...... it's ranked number one randomest <--(is that a word?) anime. so yeah. it's really... random in the anime. just consider it as randomness that can't be explained. i think it's also a supernatural or some kinda genre like that. uh... and in the anime, naota's fingernails don't come off. it just ends with naota kissing the girl with the guitar and the motorcycle. the anime's 6 ep long. so you should go ahead and watch it.
