Ginger was in the hospital because of appendicitis.
Yes, Ginger and Darren broke up. Darren became the football star and Simone (head cheerleader) started flirting with him and he started flirting back and Dodie found out and told Darren he had to tell Ginger. So the whole day Ginger is having pains in stomach and she thinks it's trying to tell her something is wrong between her and Darren. Darren shows up at her band practice and breaks up with her because "things are easier with Simone" (his words). She runs home crying and spends the rest of the day crying in her room, her mom comes in to check on her and Ginger won't move, Dr. Dave comes in and they take her to the hospital.
Carl swears off pranking because he wants a better imagine in Middle School, but he has a lot of trouble with that because of his recorded. He really likes Dr. Dave and doesn't like how much Jonas starts hanging around after Ginger's hospital stay. At Thanksgiving, Carl and Jonas reconcile.
