Here are a few sites I use to download anime:
1) Anime Void - http://www.animevoid.com - All direct downloads are free and fast, the best collection of free anime I've seen in a while (free registration required).
2) Anime-Eden - http://www.anime-eden.com - A decent free section, an even better premium section (free registration required, donation for premium access).
3) Anime Breaker - http://www.animebreaker.com - A great collection of files, but the ads are a bit intrusive (uses MegaUpload links).
4) Baka-Wolf - http://www.baka-wolf.com - A decent collection of files, but the speeds can be slow at times (free registration required).
5) g2 Anime - http://g2anime.net - A good sized collection of older and hard to find anime, not the best speeds (registration not required).
I hope that helps, even a little. As an anime fan myself, I know it can be quite hard to find good download sites. So I'm more than happy to help others out when they ask.
