In 1969 Alucard was imprisoned in a dungeon in Hellsing manor by Sir Arthur Hellsing, Integra's father. Shortly after Arthur's death in 1989, Alucard was awakened and resuscitated by Integra's blood when she came to his cell seeking rescue and her shoulder was clipped by a bullet. After just 20 years of imprisonment, Alucard saved Integra (then only 12 years old) from her traitorous uncle, Richard, and became her servant.
