Question: I want to be a cartoonist but afraid of critics!?
i always wanted to make a cartoon movie/tv show, i have so many ideas!.
what are the steps to become a cartoonist!? how much do you get paid for making a comic/manga book!? and how much you get paid to make a cartoon!? i am saving money for a art school!. but right now taking my general classes to get my AA degree!. what kind of job will give me more experience to what i want to be!? i just need more understanding of what is what to be a animator!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

to do comic books, you will probably not make a lot of money no matter what company you work for or what you draw!. Unless you make something so popular it makes you rich, but the chance of that is like winning the lottery!. However, comics tends to be low-paying!.
Doing animation, it depends on what kind of job you have!. Will you be the director, writer, animator, or producer!? Each job has different duties and pay!.
The easiest way is to go to art school, but you are planning already!. You are on your way!. Make sure the art school you choose is good at teaching animation! Don't just choose any art school that has animation classes, do research on this!
You actually don't need to go to art school but it will make getting a job much easier!. Because in art school you will meet people who will help you find a job!. also you will learn the skills needed to get a job!. During or after art school, they will help you find your first job, hopefully!.

you need to make short films or short cartoons, then later on companies buy the cartoon of you and you draw and make for them and get paid!.
As a Animator myself, it is quite differnet but very similar to making a cartoon show on tv, they are differnet things, i would suspect that you want to be a toonist for disney or warner or something!. to be a flash animator you need to get flash cs3 and do the tutoials then do a uni coarse and then submit your work into companies and they might give you a job!. lawl

I think that in any occupation, job or even hobby, one must never be afraid of critics/criticisms and instead view these as an opportunity to do better on your craft!. How much you really want it reflects on how much you are willing to do or invest to get it!. If you want it that bad, you wouldn't mind a little criticism (which is normal since you can't please everybody) and you would have risked everything right now to concentrate on that one single dream!.
