Why is anime always drawn better that our local cartoons?!
Question: Why is anime always drawn better that our local cartoons!?
There are so many people who criticize the anime style, but what about fairly odd parents, courage the cowardly dog, danny phantom, grim adventures etc!.
while I do enjoy the comedy and action in all of these shows, all of them show inconsistency in drawings especially in the backgrounds!. for example-
things which are supposed to be straight are never quite straigh like tiles on the floors, roof shingles lockers etc!.
analogue clocks never appear perfectly round (in fairly odd parents),
and the laws of physics seems to break anytime someone's face is at an angle e!.g!. timmy turners dad (his nose moves to the side of his face!!)
I mean why do they let these errors slip!.
In anime no matter how juvenile the plot or the main characters the environment is always drawn with proper geometric proportion!.
e!.g!. tokyo pig is a ridiculous show, but!.!.!.!.the cityscape is drawn properly!.

when i was in high school and college, i thought the same way you do!. But as I grew up older I started to appreciate the way american cartoons are done!.
They draw like that on purpose!. They are more experimental, the line quality and character design is meant to be looser, meant to be more abstract!. This mirrors the content of the show itself, being more comedy or more surreal or whatever!. also they are attempting to disorient and/or trying to show energy and fun but they have to do it in less lines than anime!. So by using simpler design and less lines to define things, you have to go with broken lines, not-round clocks, or whatever, to put across the 'feeling' of silliness or whatever!. It also helps the tone of the show!. They are purposefully trying to make the show look more cartoony and unreal than real!.
Anime is usually always serious or more logical!. They are drawn with more care and much tighter!. But of course that is an opinion if you like it more or less!. Personally I love anime myself!. But they even draw tightly with comedy, and the only reason I can think of is simply because that's what the Japanese want to do!. But if you look, you will find the Japanese doing weird things like "my neighbors the yamadas" and etc!.
But what you are doing is comparing apples and oranges!. If you think about it that way you will understand better!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, there are manga schools in japan!. They teach them how to draw like those in the mangas at an early age!.

the people who draw the anime spend lot of time on a drawing it takes twice the time then manga and our cartoons that we have, that is just one of the reasons i remember!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Your definitions of "better" and "properly" are more matters of personal taste!. The shows that you cite are not drawn "wrong"; they are just drawn in a different style!. The artists who work on these shows make choices to draw characters and backgrounds in a less realistic or precise way!. If you pat attention, you'll realize that anime makes just as many departures from reality as Western cartoons do, just in different realms!. Mouths will ne drawn partially off a character's face, eyes change size and shape in unrealistic ways, and - much like Timmy's dad's nose - features like a part in the hair will frequenlt migrate from one side of the face to the other!. This doesn't mean that these artists don't know how to draw and animate more realistically; they're just making a style choice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
