Sometimes a guy talks and sounds like an old man, or a kid sounds like an adult!.
I guess it's because they record the voices first, and they just slip any character in when drawing to say that line!. I always find it funny tho XDWww@Enter-QA@Com

In real life, there are some species of fish that can change gender!. The creator was a marine biologist, so maybe it's a subtle nod to that fact!.
