Well, if you want a trivia, why do you think Speed Racer's shirt say the letter "G" when in the english dub is name has no G's!?!?
It's because his original name is Go Mifune!.
Another trivia, there's a second Speed Racer series made in the mid 90's with far less cartoonish character designs and a more serious plot, but the series lacked that spark and cheesiness that makes the original series so great and it was cancelled in Japan!. I've seen a few episodes of it and it isn't a bad series (no complaints in the animation department), but it's just not that great either!.
