I have to say Akira, but my love of science fiction dates back to the sixties, I've read most of the great works from the forties on, and a good many from before that, and Akira is great SF from the OLD SCHOOL!. Lensman is actually based on a science fiction series that started in the 1930's and a lot of us with salt-and-pepper hair remember the novels fondly!. I'm fond of the anime, but when I consider it next to Akira, no!. The Doc Smith family didn't like it, and I can sort of see why!. Anything by Leiji Matsumoto is golden -- Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999 -- they all remind me of Henry Kuttner in a way!. But while it is occasionally a tossup, I have to stay with Akira!. The other choices I've seen here strike me as excellent!. Not great but excellent!. My first and third choices are great!. These are monuments!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Akira!. Although it was done in the 80's it still holds on its own animation-wise even with most animes today conviniently using CGI!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
