Wellington Wimpy, who was always after free food, and George Geezil, who would join with Roughhouse to make life difficult for Wimpy!. Trying to make life difficult for Popeye was the Sea Hag!. She had a vulture whose name I have forgotten!. She was also assisted at times by Bluto, a!.k!.a Brutus in the animated films, and Alice the Goon, who, unlike Bluto joined Popeye as a friend, rather than becoming a freelance nasty!. Swee' Pea was left on Popeye's doorstep in the early '30's!. also turning up, and succeeding better than the Sea Hag in complicating Popeye's life was Poopdeck Pappy!. Eugene the Jeep also joined them in Sweethaven, and Granny after Segar, who created almost all of those characters, died!. For a while during the thirties there was a top strip about a guy named Sappo, his wife, and his friend the mad scientist O!. G!. Wottaschnozzle!.
