Gaara's ability to command the sand was not unique to him being the vessel for Shukaku!. It's actually quite common among shinobi of the Sand Village, and the fact that his two siblings (Temari and Kankuro) both never show any sand control abilities is a bit odd!. Gaara has already demonstrated that he still can control the sand, though he has not been shown in battle since then, and likely is a much weaker ninja than he used to be for the following reasons:
1) The sand won't automatically protect him as it once did!. As such, he would have to command it to block each individual attack!. This would mean he would have to see the attack coming, and be able to react in time, and be able to pour enough chakra into the sand quickly enough to block the full force!.
2) Without Shukaku, Gaara would have lost a huge chakra supply that he used to be able to depend on!. As such, moves like Sand Armor, which he could only maintain for a few seconds, are likely impossible for him!. Plus, he likely doesn't have enough chakra to waste on blocking attacks with sand, so now he would have to learn how to dodge, something he has apparently never done before in his life!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

mostly he dont have any power left to do because when he use the sand it was useing the power but the akatuki took then away so no he does not have any power left so he is just there!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
