What makes the perfect Anime character?!

It's all about three things: [1] Personality-duh! [2] Hair, and [3] Outfit!.

First, the Personality!. I think they have to be cool, calm and collected under any circumstances, including under great stress!. Then they mercilessly kill their opponents, without hesitating- unless they have a very good reason to let them live!.

Second, the Hair!. Doesn't it kind of speak for itself!? It must be awesome, of course! And preferably an exotic color, like white or red or purple!.

And last, the outfit!. The character should have something, at least one accessory of some sort, that no one else would even dream of!. And maybe they should have a cool sash or a headband! For example, my favorite anime character of all time, Sesshoumaru!. He has a colossal, white boa over his right shoulder, often called his "fluffy"!. Know anyone else with a fluffy over their shoulder!? (It's actually part of his body!.) Or InuYasha, who has no shoes and a really stylish necklace!. (Of course, we all know poor InuYasha has no choice but to wear this necklace- alas!)

Chu, I beg to differ!. Genjo Sanzo from Saiyuki is the perfect Anime character!!!!

All kidding aside, everything you mentioned up there has something to do with making the perfect Anime character!. Even clothes play their part!. Having hair & clothes & legs, hands, feet are all impportant!. But it's the way a character wears their clothes, the style of the hair, the swagger with which they walk, how they mover their arms and legs that is more important than just having them!. Then there is personality! Sanzo might not be as appealing as he is if he wasn't as cranky (he's so cute hwne he is cranky!!!), brutal and as "aniti-normal" as he is!!! It just would not be the same to see some namby-pamby, whiny-@$$ Buddhist monk dispensing demons!!! No! he's got to have PERSONALITY and THAT is what Sanzo & Aya Toujo have!!

I'll be honest and say that I did not read all the previous answers, but just skimmed them!. I think it is also the voice actor that makes the Anime character!!!! Be it dubbed or subbed, if the V a isn't good, neither is the character!!!

Eh well It all depends on what you like!. Some people like the typical hero!.!.so they will think that NARUTO is the perfect anime character!. And if people like more mysterious characters then they would lean twards Sasuke!.
There is no PERFECT anime character!. Some people love Naruto and Ichigo!.!.and think there the greatest!. But I dont, I cant stand them!. I like anime characters that are different from the rest!.!.so I lean more twards characters like L!.
So really!.!.NOTHING makes the perfect Anime character!. Since its all in your own opinion!.!.!.

I think the face and the personality!. It all varies!. To me when I look at Gaara in the anime Naruto, his face best suits his personality!. He's cold and distant in the beginning, and the shading around his eyes gives him that sad look!. Kind of like a puppy dog!. I do a lot of anime drawing myself and I usually based my drawings on my characters personality!. If they're goofy, I'll give them a little bit of a goofy face and outfit!. ya know!?
