Yu Yu Hakusho (this one might have everything your looking for in anime)
Samurai X / Rurouni Kenshin (same for this one)
Voltron (gotta have cheezy robots lol)
Ghost in the Shell (movies and show)
Dragon Ball Z movies

Tenchi Muyo! in Love
and my personal favorite Tekkaman Blade
While I have not read much manga, I can recommend a few titles:
*These titles though I mentioned in anime, they are still worth the read:
*Akira (While the film is impressive, the manga unfolds MUCH more of the story)
*Dragon Ball (I put the manga on the list because the show has a lot of filler and the later fights just drag on)
This last one I do not believe many people read, but its a great find: Usagi Yojimbo
