Bruce Wayne!. Forbes did an article on the richest fictional characters (and not just comic book characters), and good ol' Bruce made it in top 8, with a net worth of $7B!. i don't know how they got these numbers but hey, who are we to dispute Forbes!! ;) Tony Stark however, is two places below him (top 10) with $6B!.

Not a bad question, and not a subject I had ever spent much time thinking about!. Off-hand, I can't recall any stories that really center on the Wayne fortune, but I can recall several storylines where Stark industries has had financial difficulties and has even been bought up by another company (and I think I should point out that while Stark started out manufacturing weapons, his company diversified into other fields back before the Vietnam war had ended, so anyone who thinks of Stark only as a weapons inventor and manufacturer probably hasn't read many Iron Man stories)!. Since the Wayne fortune seems more stable, I would assume it is most likely greater!. I would think there should be stories that could be told about the Wayne fortune; Batman was the original vigilante posing as an "idle playboy millionaire," and having a fortune to work with certainly made it easier to explain how Batman was able to accomplish so much, but I have wondered how a Doctor came to leave such a large fortune behind!. Even if Doctor Wayne had a practice that only catered to rich patients, he seems to have left behind such a large estate (an entire Foundation, in fact) that I can't see why Wayne senior worked at all!. Clearly, there are stories that could be told about the Wayne family fortune, and probably should be told!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
