Question: Do you know a good anime!?
I've seen far less than some people have, but I have a very specific thing I'm looking for in an anime, so I wonder if people can help me out here!. I'm having trouble finding something to watch and enjoy!.

In particular, I'm looking for an anime where you can sit on the edge of your seat and KNOW that a character isn't invincible, but!.!.!. I am not necessarily looking for a fighting anime!.!.!.
I dunno, I like the dramatic, physical or no!. I also am not partial to any genre, and I like them all and am willing to try new things!. I don't mind foolish comedy, but if they back it up with a good seriousness!.
Oh!. PLOT!. I need plot!. And theme!. Edge-of-chairness!.

The Twelve Kingdoms is another series that I highly recommend~ It has a great story!. You might find the main character really annoying at first, but she changes completely over the course of the series!. You really get pulled in when watching this~

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is another great Anime series that has an intelligent plot!. It's the kind of series that you have to give all your attention to, or else you'll be lost!. Meaning, if you watch more than one series at a time, you can't really do that when watching this~

I also have to suggest Kino's Journey~ It's a smart series that follows a traveler as he visits different countries and gives insight into their way of life~

Of course, I have to recommend a classic action Anime, Rurouni Kenshin!. It's something everyone should watch!. Definitely the best samurai Anime~ After you finish the 95 episode series, you can watch the OVA series, Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (OVA 1-4 if you scroll down on the site)!. It is one of the greatest~

Check out Ruruouni Kenshin!. It's my number one pick!. It's about an infamous assasin from the Tokugawa era who regretted taking away the lives of so many people that he chose to be a wanderer ro seek atonement for his sins!. He eventually found new and real friends but his past haunted him in the form of fellow assasins/slashers from his past, most wanting to settle an old score and some just out to test his reputation as the feared Battousai the Slasher!.
You might wanna watch this because:
1!. This anime has amazing fight scenes and the details are often broken down so the viewer would be able to understand it clearly!.
2!. Kenshin is a very skilled swordsman and he was arguably the fastest swordsman during his years as Battousai the slasher, helping him earn his notorious reputation as a killing machine!.
3!. No!. Despite that, he is not invincible, he is always shown losing a lot of blood and sustaining a lot of wounds but to discuss much further would spoil the fun!. ^_^'
4!. Aside from his superb fghting skills, he's known for seeing through his opponents which allows him to use their weaknesses against them prior to using sheer force!.
5!. If you dig drama, its 2 OVAs, RK Trust and Betrayal and RK Reflections, are full of pretty sad and depressing scenes!. It also offers a lot of more mature themes like hope, struggle, devotion and disillusionment
6!. If you cannot contain the tragedy of the OVAs, then you can just stick to the series where most of the fight scenes are together with some of the 'cute' and comic fillers!.
7!. If you want romance, there's Kenshin and Kaoru's comic romance and there's Kenshin and Tomoe's tragic history!.
