He hasn't died Post-Crisis, which is the main DC comic canon!. He did die Pre-Crisis, which was retconned because he was so popular!.

I've got the comic on the Joker with the lil statue of him!.!.!.it tells you all the info on his life story, classic issues, friends and enemies etc!. He has died but always seems to come back again!.!.!.even when Batman has watched him die! Batman has even had to save the Joker on more than one occasion!. Joker planted 3 bombs!. 2 went off but 1 was still hidden!. During a fight, Joker got a face full of his own Smilex venom and was sent into a critical condition!. The crzy formula mixed with his own weird pshycology was slowly killing him! Batman had to save him and took him into the E!.R of the hospital where the last bomb was set to go off any time soon! he didn't die!. Nightwing even stated that if Batman's still alive, He's still alive!. it's like they're a part of each other!. Psycho and Bat!. In the 60's he did, but was later terminated due to his impact!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
