I watched Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and CardCaptor Sakura when I was young!. I think they're all pretty good anime to watch for people new to anime (not really Pokemon though)!.

Sailor Moon was what made me start watching anime again!. When I watched it when I was younger, I didn't know it was anime but one day I wanted to watch SM again so I did!. And I guess that's how it all started!.

Popular mainstream anime should work too, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc!. As long as people branch out and watch other anime and realize that there's good anime outside of those series!.

Good rom coms a lot of anime watchers (including new anime watchers) seem to like: Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, Lovely Complex!.

And everyone seems to like Studio Ghlibi movies, and like Jeremy C said, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time!. I love that movie, it's my favorite anime movie and one of my favorite non anime movies too!. It reminds me a bit of Click though!.

Can't really say anything about action anime since I'm not a big fan!.!.!. people seem to be liking Code Geass though!. It seems there's been an increase in CG questions on here since it started airing on Adult Swim!.

I would wait before watching Lucky Star, otherwise it's hard to really get any of the references!. Plus it's slice of life, I don't know about other people, but when I first starting watching slice of life anime I didn't really like it and thought it was boring!. I do like it a bit more now, that could be just me though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

What I like to look at as the big 3 of Anime!. Akira, Princess Mononoke, and Ninja Scroll!. I think movies make better starters then series but if you want a good starter series I'd probly have to say Ruroni Kenshin would be my first choice as a starter!.

Personally I have to disagree with Evangelion!. First time I watched it was with some friends in college, one of which had never seen any anime!. He was beyond clueless and had a lot of trouble following it!. I guess you just need to develop a sense of the way most animes flow first!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The first anime I ever saw was Bubble Gum Crisis and Akira!.

Dragon Ball Z is really what gave me a taste for it though!. That show is still one of my favorites!. This is probably the one I would probably recommend over everything else!.

Trigun is an awesome one and it's a short/easy series to get through!.

Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist are pretty good for beginners too and aren't too hard to pick up on!.

Lots of people used to like Ranma 1/2 also!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i hate people who use the word noob!.
that just hinders the development of any community, as people don't want to seem like a noob so they don't ask questions!

but i love full metal alchemist, in all forms, not a true anime, but of the same stye, a nice intro!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I also started with Kenshin!. I'd recommend that one and Cowboy Beepbop as well!. Naruto is an alright starter is well if you don't mind having to catch up with how ever many billions of episodes/volumes that are out now!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i personally loved Hunter x Hunter even though it
wasn't my first anime!. it's my favorite out of everything
i've watched, which is pretty much everything x)~

i would recommend that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Death Note is perhaps the best anime out there!.

You can watch every episode with english subtitles on www!.deathnote!.tv, or watch it on Adult Swim at 12:00 AM on Saturdays in english!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Naruto
Lucky Star
Tokyo mew mew (its actually easy to go along with if you've never seen it before)
Or InuYasha
Those, I think, Are Good Starter anime shows^_^
I think They are really easy to follow!Www@Enter-QA@Com

i would first ask them what kind of genres they like because they may not like the anime that i like, but i would first start off with most popular ones like naruto, bleach or death noteWww@Enter-QA@Com

Hmm!.!. if u say about someone who never seen anime before!.!.!. u must know to choose a genre that suitable to him/her!.!.!. Check to the source 4 look each genre in anime!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Rurouni Kenshin would be a perfect starter!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well when i first started watching anime i firstly watched full metal alchemist and naruto!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd recomend full metal alchemist or Bleach although the first anime I've seen was dragon ball ZWww@Enter-QA@Com

Sailor Moon or Rurouni Kenshin!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well i never seen them before but my favorite anime is narutoWww@Enter-QA@Com

Death Note is the perfect choice for a starter!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

When I was started getting into anime I watched Inuyasha a lot!. I think Bleach is another great one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Why are you asking this if you already think you know what's good!?
Those are good anime, by the way!. I am just wondering!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

loveless
hellsing
lucky starWww@Enter-QA@Com

GantzWww@Enter-QA@Com

Tokyo Mew Mew was my first anime, I think it is good to start off with if the person would be into shojo-type stuff!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i havent seen those yetWww@Enter-QA@Com

Dragon Ball Z GT for sureWww@Enter-QA@Com

The first ones that come to mind are Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (Kenshin OVA), Trigun, and maybe Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex~ all classic action Anime!.

From there I would suggest the more popular Anime~ Bleach, Death Note, and Naruto !.!.!. as well as anything else that has aired on Adult Swim

I would also suggest~ ef: A Tale of Memories, Kanon 2006, and Lovely Complex~ for those who want some romance Anime

As for Movies~ anything by Hayao Miyazaki, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, 5 Centimeters per Second, Akira, and Ninja Scroll

~~~
I think Evangelion is a bit too complicated of an Anime for a person who has never seen any Anime before to watch~ that's why I said *maybe* about Ghost in the Shell SAC, as it is a little hard to followWww@Enter-QA@Com
