Nodame Cantabile is funny and very interesting!. Chiaki is arrogant and egotistical, but not a pervert and does not beat Nodame up!. (He slaps her around but it's just slapstick, and he stops when he realizes it's the same thing his professor used to do to him!. So there is character development, too!.)

One of the best things abotu the series is you see how these different characters interact and learn to work together as a team, and in the process, they play some of the world's greatest classical music!. If you like music at all, you will love this!.
