He has never been seen with regular mangekyo sharingan but the "star wheel" you guys call it is the eternal version of his would be mangekyo and itachi's mangekyo sharingan and he gained by itachi transfering his mangekyo sharingan to him when he touched sasuke on the forehead before he died!. yea, they look cool but i prefer the normal sharingan!. and yea, i think u need to kill a person thats close to u to obtain a new sharingan tecniq, like sasuke just killed itachi (altho he died in exhaustion but he died in the battle and tht counts) and itachi is close 2 sasuke and yea, he got the star wheel thing u mentioned, i just read 402 yesterday lol!. that was sadWww@Enter-QA@Com
Yes he does have his mangekyou sharingan!. By the looks of it, it has alot of power which is why Madara wanted him!.
to answer Buangier's question, the requirement is "Bond"!. Brotherly Bond, Family Bond, Bond between friends etc!. when the person (s) whom with you have the bond is killed by your hands, the sharingan then awakens the second eye (mangekyou)!. I'm always confused on how to get a certain sharingan!. Like Itachi killed his friend, Madara took his brothers eyes, Kakashi did something i really don't know how, and sasuke's closest people died!?
