Name of a Sc fi animated show?!

I think it was on the WB in the late 90's it was a 5 part sereis i think and it was about a teenage boy left on earth when he was young and now his uncle,i think, is trying to invade and conquer earth and he is helped by a stranger who is actually an alien like him and was left to watch over him he also has an alien attack dog as a pet!. i dont know if anyone remembers it but if it was really a show or movie i want to know the nameWww@Enter-QA@Com
