I am curious as a fan to find out also i have no clue why haters have to be such jerks to the fans!. Please don't say it sucks or it is gay, be more specific!. Becuase saying "it sucks" or "its gay" does not give the fans a good explanation nor does serve the purpose of me writting it (for a 3 page essay on somthing i can ask people)!. Hey there, Meghan! :) Speaking as a Naruto convert, I'll do the best I can to help you with your paper!. So, first question:
1) Why do you hate Naruto!? - The first thing that attracts me to an anime or manga is typically the artwork!. When this show first came out in the U!.S!. I found the artwork unappealing!. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't something I wanted to spend my time on!. It was too simplistic for my genreal tastes!.!.!.Then it got popular, which is an even bigger turn-off for me!. I know that sounds crazy, but if everyone else is doing it I'd rather be doing something else!. And finally, Naruto's character, from what I'd seen in commercials, read online, etc!. was over-the-top annoying!. Anime characters like that REALLY get on my nerves!. Anyway, it wasn't really a matter of HATING Naruto, so much as not wanting to waste my time on it!. There are so many anime shows out there, and nothing about Naruto popped out at me and screamed, "You have to watch me!"
Anyway, I was eventually converted by a friend, who owned the first box set on DVD!. She said, "Watch them, take your time, have fun!" I said, my voice driping with sarcasm, "Yeah, right!" but I took them home anyway!. One night later that week I had nothing better to do and decided to grit my teeth and get it over with!. Naruto was just as annoying as anticipated, Sasuke was too angsty even for me (and I love angst!), and Sakura couldn't do anything but whine!. So why did I keep watching the show!? I liked the older characters - Iruka, Kakashi, Asuma & the others - they made me want to keep watching!. So I did, and I'll admit that Naruto himself isn't quite as annoying anymore, but I still want to give Sasuke a swift kick in the rear & slap some sense into Sakura!. LOL!

However, I did get really tired of hearing that Naruto was the "BEStest ANime EVA!" Not a direct quote, but you get the idea!. This sort of thing began to populate every anime message board and forum in existence!. Many fans attribute this attitude to young teens and pre-teens who have nothing better to do!. I'm inclined to agree, (although I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule!.) If I want to discuss Naruto, I want to do it in an educated fashion, I don't want some some fan girl screaming at me that "OMG! Sausuke is SOoOooOOO HAWT!1!!1" And the longer you've been and fan, and the more you see of crap like that, the more it starts to grate on your nerves, until you can't help but pop off at the next illerterate postee that comes your way!. Granted, there are jerks out there that will be mean no matter what!. They're called cyber-bullies and trolls and they exists throughout cyberspace!. They're just as annoying as the over-obsessed fans because they obviously have nothing better to do with their time than put down others!.
Ironically enough a similar issue is going on right now over the Twilight fans in the "Books & Authors" area here!.

Ah, I like Naruto!. I think it's just some of the other fans are very annoying!. Relating everything to Naruto and saying Naruto is better then everything else!. It's just gotten out of hand! I dont discriminate against fans!. I mean I still somewhat like Naruto but I'm not obsessed with it anymore!. I think non-Naruto fans get angry at "Narutards" because its all they ever talk about!. "Narutards" usually pair their own characters or "OC"s with a character, which really upsets a lot of people!. I dont want to stereotype, but it seems that younger anime fans are more likely to be hardcore Naruto fans, and older anime fans have probably found other series that they really like, so perhaps it also has to do with age difference!.

Bleach/Naruto are not good anime!.
The plot is quite flat, characters are undeveloped/flat!. (please don't give me the crap about, all characters are developed through 100 episodes!. Monster has good chara development!. Naruto is not)!.
It's a fun watch, seeing some action watching naruto beat the evil guy up!. It's fine here!.!.

Samething applies to Naruto and Bleach!. At the start, its wonderful!. it has tension, character development, lots of many small themes!. But once the author starts to lengthen in for purpose of money, it starts to lose that!.
In english class you must have heard teacher say try to cut the words down much as possible!. Good literature comes from good choice of diction only at its necessary length!. If it tries to double that by 2!. -> disasster
Think about it, by claiming naruto is the best!. it makes Josh or Bob's fav anime not good!. Especially if they realize how bad naruto is these days!. For that reason its an indirect insult at Josh and Bob!.

People aren't smart enough and are too ignorant/ uneducated to understand such wit and comedic entertainment in an animation like Naruto!. Furthermore, they have no life so they try to create motivation for themselves!. Hence, they hate on not just us Naruto fans but Anime fans in general!

It's not really so much about Naruto itself!. The show is very overrated, but that's all I got!.
The real reason is probably you "new wave" of fans!. I remember being right there waiting for the 1st issue of Naruto to be printed out in Manga, I had better reasons to be excited and happy and whatever-- I was discovering something totally new!. But fans nowadays are making such a big deal over an Anime that is being too over popularized that you can't help but scof at people who thinks its the best Anime that ever existed (OH come on now, I bet you ARE a Narutard like the rest of them) When there's so much new stuff that has yet to be discovered!.
Long story short: Naruto is too overrated because of Narutards!. Well I love Naruto but I think that people who are so mean to the fans have either never seen the anime or read the manga before, or they came in contact with a person who is like NARUTO IS COOL! ITS THE BEST! NARUTO NARUTO NARUTO! yeah some fans do get like that and that usually tends to irritate the people who arent really into Naruto!. I think some of it also has to do with that fact that its really popular so it gets talked about a lot even if the topic has nothing to do with Naruto!. I also think that many people are mean to the fans because they judge it too quickly or have only started watching it in the middle of episode 145 or whatever and completely miss the entire point of the storyline! But those are just my thoughts, like I said I love Naruto so I really dont have an opinion for the people who dont like it!. :-PWww@Enter-QA@Com
