I think your best bet is going to be to ask about specific mangas and ask for spoilers!.
At some sites, like onemanga!.com, they give an introduction to the series, but you want more than that!.
You could also look at the first episode of the ending arc, since they will sometimes give a little summary of what brought all the characters to that point, expecially if it is to be a climactic battle/ violent end!.
