Pretear, Full Metal Alchemist (not much romance but it's awesome), Love Hina, Tokyo Mew Mew, Loveless, Chobits, Samurai Champloo, Seven Samurai, Full Metal Panic!.

well i like:
Hana Kimi - its also a gender bender but has a happy ending and romantic!.

Hana Yori Dango - is old and some ppl dont like it but i love the story!.

There is also a drama versions of these that maybe you would like with actual RL ppl playing the part!. The drama versions cut alot of the story out so i recommend the anime first!.
also Hana Kimi is a manga and a drama not an anime!.
