Actually, I think you are thinking of 'Cadillac Cats' which is about an orange cat who lived in a dump!. It was also called the 'Catillac Cats'

Heathcliff is an ongoing comic strip that was made into two shows in the early 80's!. Heathcliff would fool around with his old owners, an old man and his wife!. The man hated him, but the wife loved him, as did her grandson Iggy!. He would bother the owner of the nearby fish store, steal fish, knock over potted plants, tease big dogs and get into all kinds of trouble at home and around town!. Usually this is all in one panel, and the cartoon extended it into a half-hour show!.

The second half of the cartoon featured the show 'Cadillac Cats' about an orange cat named Rif-Raf who lived with his buddies in a dump!. Wordsworth was a white cat who wore roller skates, headphones, and goggles, and mostly spoke in rhyme!. Mungo was a big, dim-witted and strong purple cat!.
Most episodes revolved around Riff-Raff's "get rich quick" schemes or searches for food!. They had a transforming Cadillac that they lived in and would use!. Rif-Raf lived in a half of an old plane which stood precariously at the top of a pile of junk overlooking the yard!. And he had a girlfriend named Cleo who lived in a music store!. Rif-Raf and pals had adventures in and around the dump and Cleo had a sheep-dog as a friend who couldn't see and always tried to stop Rif-Raf from flirting with Cleo, but failed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

One of the local newspapers still runs the "Heathcliff" daily strip, or at least was still using it the last time I looked through a copy of that particular rag!. "Heathcliff" is in with other less expensive strips like "Mary Worth," "Mark Trail," "Short Ribs," "Rex Morgan M!.D!.," "Alley Oop," "Family Circus," and the worst of all political cartoons, "Mallard Fillmore!." In that company, "Heathcliff" seems like a comic masterpiece!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
